    Established in 2003, KPN is dedicated to practice world class photojournalism with a network of professional photographers across Karnataka. KPN's lensmen cover news, culture, crime, business and sports, and their pictures tap the immediacy of the internet in assignment, execution, delivery and distribution, with a state-of-the-art facility in Bangalore.

    Over the last eight years, KPN has grown at a fast clip. Its subscriber list now includes India's premier newspapers and magazines: from Deccan Herald and The Hindu to The New Indian Express, Deccan Chronicle and DNA. All the Kannada dailies including Prajavani and Vijaya Karnataka are subscribers, as indeed are the big dailies from Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, Eenadu and Saakshi, Dina Thanthi and Dinakaran.

    Over 35 publications including Time, and national newsmagazines like Outlook, India Today and The Week, also use KPN's service.

    KPN offers internship for journalism students across the County to learn Photojournalism.

    Saggere Ramaswamy, visiting professor at IIJNM (Indian Institute of Journalism & New Media), who has been a photojournalist for 28 years in Andolana, The Indian Express and The Hindu, heads Team KPN.

    T.S. SATYAN MEMORIAL AWARDS FOR PHOTOJOURNALISM

    The T.S. Satyan Memorial Awards for Photojournalism have been instituted by KPN, in collaboration with the well-known website churumuri.com in memory of the globally renowned photojournalist, T.S. Satyan.

    On December 18, 2011 at Raj Bhavan in Bangalore, the Governor of Karnataka Shri Hans Raj Bhardwaj presented the first edition of awards to YAGNESHWARA ACHARYA aka YAGNA Mangalore, K. GOPINATHAN Chief News Photographer, The Hindu, Bangalore and others.

    Prof. Saggere Ramaswamy has been in journalism for 28 years now. He started out as a sub-editor, had a brush with reporting and made his mark as a photojournalist. He has worked for 8 different publications, including The Hindu, Indian Express/Kannada Prabha, Deccan Herald/Prajavani, Andolana and Star of Mysore. He was Photo Editor of the Tech Mail, the world's first technology newspaper and Consulting Editor with the Food & Nutrition World, a monthly magazine.

    Prof. Saggere has given a global perspective to his work with his assignments in Sri Lanka and Egypt and his work has been exhibited in major cities in India. He has received Karnataka Media Academy Award, the Karnataka State Dasara Award and the Karnataka Union of Working Journalists (KUWJ) Award for journalism.

    Saggere, who's the Founder of Bangalore Photojournalists Association, has fulfilled his social commitment to the media community in his capacity as General Secretary of Press Club of Bangalore, secretary of Indo-Sri Lanka Journalists Association, Director, Karnataka Journalists Cooperative Society and others. He has involved in theatre activity and acted in TV serials.

    In his crime beat, he has covered Operation Veerappan, LTTE hideouts in Muttathi and Konanakunte and many communal violence in the state. He was spot-jury for Miss Photogenic section for Miss World 1996 Bangalore.

    He is a graduate from Mysore University and having Dip in Journalism.
